For those who do not know
guess the book title will surprise you as much as my students. I was recommended by my colleague and friend Jose Hernandez and has been reading the 3 rd assessment of my students of 1 º and 2 º ESO. It is a very appropriate reading for this age group and discover the playful side of the subject of language and literature. For those who love word games like me, the continuing challenges linguistic features further enhance the pleasure of reading. When the book work in the classroom teaching raised the following sequence:
- Building so shocking that title (which has little to do with what they imagined) devoted a session for a creative writing workshop prior to reading. I explained that I had to develop a story with what they imagined would happen in the book. Intended to think well before writing the elements of his story (narrator, characters, characterization, murder weapon, motive for murder), to seek originality and escaping of topics that combine the narrative and descriptive and that structure correctly text. The organized into groups of four students and gave them the form below. Should be completed with the same data, but then each would write its history. It was interesting to see discussed to agree on the names of the characters, the murder weapon, a motive for the murder, etc.
Creative Writing Workshop. The Assassination of Professor of Language
- After completing the form, each student wrote individually its history. We use the self-correcting code to observe their mistakes and modify them themselves. The truth is that a lot diisfruté reading his essays for the originality they had shown, and also enjoyed seeing their excited faces when the next day I congratulated them and congratulated them for how well they had done. Here you have some,
- For several sessions we read aloud in the classroom and took the opportunity to reflect and debate on some issues reading the thread (the importance of reading, the frustration of teachers) and to play with linguistic clues they appeared in the book.
- the end, I gave a reading guide several sections (reading, personal opinion, linguistic and literary creation) for the work at home. His productions, especially in terms of linguistic creation, have been very creative, and by his own comments have fun doing the work.
- Finally I met at recess with Team Blog Editors classroom to record a radio program of terror making voices and music to writing proposals that they had developed. This is the result:
